04: 6 days Samburu, Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru
Lodge Safari
Day 1: Nairobi/Masai Mara
Leave Nairobi for the Maasai Mara Game Reserve via the view point of the Great Rift Valley, lunch en route. Arrive in time for a late afternoon/early evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the campsite or similar.

Day 2: Masai Mara
This will be a day of tracking game with your guide. The Mara’s landscape is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills, which enables the reserve to attract sufficient rainfall to maintain and support a large population of herbivores, together with the predators that follow. Elephants, lions and buffaloes can be seen with relative ease though luck is a necessary factor for spotting leopard and rhino that complete the big five as the two animals are very timid and sparsely numbered.
Other species seen include wildebeest, zebra, Masaai giraffe, hippos, crocodile and a variety of antelopes including impala, dik dik, hartebeest and topi. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight or similar.
Day 3: Masai Mara
Another day is spent at the Mara. Morning game drive and break for lunch and continue for a visit nearby Maasai village at extra cost or proceed for a guided nature walk as an alternative to the game drive. Rest of meals and overnight at the lodge or campsite will all be well organized to suit your interest or similar.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru,Samburu
After breakfast proceed for a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park which is known for its high concentration of flamingoes. The park is rich in other bird life and a number of wild animals. Depart for Samburu Game Reserve for dinner and overnight at the lodge or campsite via the Thompson Falls and Nanyuki town for lunch, game drive en route or equivalent.
Day 5: Samburu
Morning and afternoon game drives in Samburu with a lunch and leisure break in the mid afternoon. The reserve is home to rare drought resistant animals including the reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra, the blue shanked Somali ostrich, the gerenuk and the beisa oryx. Other species seen include elephant, cheetah and crocodiles along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Dinner and overnight at the lodge /campsite or similar.
Day 6: Samburu, Nairobi
After breakfast depart Samburu for Nairobi . Stopping for lunch at Nanyuki. If the weather permits, Mt. Kenya ’s peak may be viewed and you will by pass very pleasant countryside with coffee and tea plantations. Arrive in the evening.
